Not much of an update this week because not much has changed since last week. I didn't even take any pictures...I know I 'm slacking right?!? But I will say I've been experiencing some serious natural hair envy lately. Seeing everybody rocking their hair loose in wash & go's, funky twistouts and braidouts. Heck I'm even jealous of my niece's puff, can't keep my hands off of it lol! No worries though after week 4 these bad boys are coming out and I'll loose and free too...So whateva!!
To suppress my urge to yank these out I think I"ll rod the ends like last time, for a cute curly switch up. I'll let you now and take lots of pics if I do...See ya next week :-)
Here's my twists back in January after I rodded the ends....To see more pics click here.

No more braids and barrettes, at least for now, for my little monster. Let me give you a bit of background on the midget....she's a wild child with tons of energy! I've always braided her hair into various styles to keep from having to worry about how her hair will look after she has flip off the couch or tried to balance on her head lol.
So over the weekend I decided to try something different with her hair. Something that would give her hair a break from the pulling of the braids, something that would be quick and easy to maintain....a wash & go? Yes!!! I washed her hair with Giovanni Triple Threat Shampoo, applied the Triple Threat Conditioner, which I let sit for 5-7 minutes, then rinsed with cool water.
While wet and with a little bit of conditioner still in her hair I smoothed in some Coconut Oil. Then I raked/fingercombed Clear EcoStyler Gel throughout her hair. Not too much though, a little bit goes a long way with EcoStyler and I didn't want it to be too crunchy. Here's how it looked wet....
After if dried I pulled it up into a puff...
On my next shopping trip I plan on getting her some Aloe Vera Gel, which would be a better choice for her young hair. It will probably keep herhair moisturized and less crunchy...lesson learned. The next day I spritzed it was a little smushed, she's a wild sleeper, so I sprtized it with water and fluff. Her curls sprung right back up!! I should have thought of this sooner lol!

If you follow Solo on twitter than you already know that she's been on a "Califonia Mission", as she calls it, to work on her new album. But on Memorial Day she decided to take a break and throw a party with her friends. The first thing I noticed was the hair...I love it! Not sure if it's real or not and I really don't care. She looks happy, her skin is glowing and she's having a good time. Ain't nothing wrong with that :-)

A letter from Juanita...
I absolutely love your site. You have inspired me to go au natural....LOL!! I literally cried looking at some of the stories on your site. I have seen how many women embraced being natural and I was always ashamed. Years after having completely damaged hair I am almost bald and have finally
decided to embrace my natural hair. My family does not agree with it which makes me scared, but you and your site are truly inspirational. I would just like to thank you. When I finally get the courage (which will be sooner than later) to do the big chop you will definitely see me on your site pictures, smiles, and all!
Wow!! Your very welcome and at the the same time, Thank You! I don't blog for myself, I blog to inspire other women to love and be confident about themselves. Your letter just let me know that I'm doing my job and I truly appreciate your support. Also I would love for you to share your Big Chop/TWA story with us, those are my fav. Just make sure you take that step when your ready! Stay Blessed....KKQ :-)
And to all of my readers, subscribers, followers and supporters....

Not much has changed since last week except.... I realized that Shea Butter was making my hair a little too greasy and I'm pretty much out of Bee Mine Curly Butter, so I used BB (Bronner Bros.) Oil Moisturizer with Castor Oil on my ends and it worked out great. It was very hot and humid this week and that combination made my twists swell. You really can't tell in the pictures but I can definitely see a difference in size. This is my first summer wearing tiny twists so I wasn't expecting that, but they still look good so no big deal. Wasn't really in the picture taken mood this week, but I woke up thursday morning and just started snapping random hair pics so I'd have something to show ya'll lol....enjoy :-)
My roots...
Flat twists and two mini buns...
Big bun and a swoop....Almost forgot to mention, I retwisted a small section on this side, because they were too big and didn't match the other side. If you compare last week's update to this pic you can see the difference....
One big twist lol....
Big messy bun...It got really hot and picture time was ova lol!! In my head I was like "they better like these pics, got me in here sweattin!"
Moving on to week 3....
