Look What I Got + Small Hair Update

1:52 PM

I've heard a lot great things about Shea Moisture products, but I had no intention of actually trying them out. that is until I found that not only are SM products being sold at Walgreens now, but that they were buy one get one free!! That deal changed my mind real quick lol! Before heading to Walgreens, which is actually Happy Harry's in my area, I got some suggestions for my Twitter tweeps. Almost everyone suggested I pick of the Coconut & Hibiscus collection and a few mentioned the Yucca & Baobab collection. After looking up the benefits of those, as well as the other collections SM offers, I made up my mind on what I was going to get. I wanted pick up a few of the Coconut & Hibiscus and African Black Soap items, but when I got to the store all they had was the C&H and the Organic Shea Butter :( I wasn't to excited about the Shea Butter so I only picked up the masque, but I grabbed it anyway since it was bogo.

The Shea Butter masque has a nutty, yet light and fresh scent. It's ingredients include Shea Butter (of course), Sea Kelp and Argan Oil. It can also double as a leave in. The Coconut & Hibiscus is smells sweet and coconutty...yummm! All 3 from that collection contain Coconut Oil, Neem Oil and Silk Protein. Both collections are packed with great ingredients, I'll keep you posted on how my hair responds to them. The BOGO promotion ends tomorrow April 2nd so if your thinking of trying this brand or your already a fan visit your local Walgreens/Happy Harry's or Walgreens.com to get some goodies!!

Small Hair Update...
You ever have one of those day, weeks, months where you just don't feel like being bothered with your hair? Well, that pretty much explains how my week has been lol! I've remedied this issue by giving myself 2 big braided pigtails. Boring..yes, but my hair my hair was out of the way and that's all that mattered. To style it I shampoo'ed with Ori Organics Curl Cleanser, conditioned using Ori's Daliy Deep Conditioner and applied their leave in for moisture. Slicked the fly aways down with Eco Styler Gel and smoothed with the Tangle Teezer. You can read my Ori Organics review HERE! Since the weather was crazy this week I covered with beanies and scarves (not shown). Here's my hair on day 4....

Waves and fuzz lol!

  1. Your pigtails are so cute! My lazy style is usually just to let my hair do what it wants and throw a headband over it, but most days, that doesn't fly (since I'm transitioning), so I do a lot of roll and tuck styles.

I got 2 Shea moisture products yesterday as well. They also had a Friends and Family sale at Walgreens which gave 15% off your purchase, so my products came up to $8.50. It was a lovely day. :-)

  5. i loaded up at Walgreens as well. . . but after trying the deep treatment masque my hair was hard, hard, hard and brittle. I realized that one the ingredients was a protein based. If you are protein sensitive make sure to do the background on the ingredients before buying. I took the majority of my purchase back to the store. The shampoo was wonderful!
